TOKYO OHKA KOGYO CO., LTD. (Headquarters: Kawasaki, Japan/ President: Noriaki Taneichi, hereinafter the “Company”) announced that it determined to acquire all shares of micro resist technology GmbH (Headquarters: Berlin, Germany/CEO: Gabi Grützner, hereinafter “MRT”) to make MRT its wholly owned subsidiary, and concluded a share transfer agreement.

1. Reason for acquisition 

　MRT, headquartered in Berlin, Germany, engages in development, production and sale of photoresists and other chemical materials for optical components, sensors, micro-optics, AR/VR, biosensors, and microfluidic devices and has the advantages of strong technological capabilities as a research and development-driven company and solid relationships with research institutions worldwide. As part of the seven key strategies set out in “tok Medium-Term Plan 2027” launched in 2025 toward the realization of TOK Vision 2030, the Company aims to expand solutions it offers to customers in the European market and develop new customer segments to pursue future business expansion. After thoroughly evaluating MRT’s strengths, location, and business synergies, the Company will create new corporate value through the fusion of both companies and further strengthen its customer-oriented strategy to expand the semiconductor market in Europe with the aim of becoming a company that is truly trusted by stakeholders.
